About Nutrition International
We make a difference because nutrition is the difference.
Learn more
The right nutrition at the right time builds the capacity to dream it fuels the power to achieve, and it lays the foundation upon which to build a better world.
Founded in 1992, Nutrition International is a global nutrition organization based in Canada.
With support from the Government of Canada and other donors, we deliver the greatest impact at the lowest cost by working directly with governments to build local capacity, partnering with research institutions to improve guidance, and breaking down silos between different development sectors as well as the private sector to integrate nutrition into non-nutrition platforms.
Goal 2030
Our vision is a world where everyone, everywhere, is free of malnutrition and able to reach their full potential.
By 2030 Nutrition International aims to transform the lives of one billion people – particularly women, girls and children – by improving their nutrition.

Access to good nutrition is a basic human right and a fundamental component of human dignity. Yet women and girls are twice as likely to suffer from malnutrition as men and boys, due to a combination of biological, social and cultural reasons.
Through programs and interventions that specifically target women, adolescent girls, and pregnant women, we help ensure they have access to improved nutrition.
Vitamin A deficiency puts children at greater risk of disease and early death and is the leading cause of preventable child blindness.
Over the last two decades, we have provided more than 10 billion capsules of vitamin A for children under five. This low-cost intervention prevents blindness, strengthens immune systems and has helped hundreds of millions of children around the world grow up stronger and healthier.
COVID-19 and nutrition
We are committed to ensuring nutrition is a key part of recovery.
COVID-19 has unleashed a malnutrition crisis, and its impacts – if left unchecked – could compromise millions of the world’s most vulnerable people and unwind hard-won development gains over the past decade. In response, we are working alongside governments, partners and donors to save lives today with emergency nutrition interventions.
